Colbert: They’re not s—hole countries because Trump isn’t their president

Stephen Colbert fired back at President Trump’s comments referring to Haiti, El Salvador and African nations as “shithole countries,” saying they weren’t “shithole” because “Donald Trump isn’t their president.

“All week long, Trump has tried to convince us that he’s a stable leader,” Colbert said, citing a press conference by Trump, among other actions.

{mosads}“It was a nice act but like many men his age he can only keep it up for so long,” he quipped.

“Today he returned to the same unstable and reactionary president we’ve all come to know and know,” Colbert said, explaining Trump’s comments referring to Haiti, El Salvador and African nations as “shithole countries.”

“Sir, they’re not shithole countries. For one, Donald Trump isn’t their president,” Colbert said.

The late night host also ribbed Trump for saying that more Norwegians should immigrate to the U.S.

“You know what I’m saying, Norwegian people. You catch my drift, people with blonde hair who need a lot of sunscreen,” Colbert said, impersonating Trump.

“You get what I’m saying, I’m saying I’m a racist.”

The Washington Post reported that Trump made the comments during an Oval Office meeting about immigration on Thursday.

The White House didn’t deny that Trump made the remarks, but Trump pushed back against the report in a tweet Friday.
