Gorka gave soldiers 2-hour ‘tirade’ on Islam: report

Former White House aide Sebastian Gorka gave a fiery two-and-a-half hour lecture on Islam to U.S. Army special operations soldiers, according to a BuzzFeed report.

The Aug. 9 speech was given shortly before Gorka was ousted from the Trump administration.

Gorka’s lecture, entitled “Transnational Terrorism/Insurgent Ideology,” discussed the war on terrorism, according to documents obtained by BuzzFeed News through a Freedom of Information Act request.

One officer present at the speech reportedly called the speech, given to students at the U.S. Army’s Special Operations Center of Excellence in Fort Bragg, N.C., a “tirade.” Gorka was repeatedly criticized during his time in the Trump administration for his views on Islam and ties to extremist groups.

A spokesperson from the center said Gorka’s speech focused on “extremism in religion.”

The details of the speech are classified, and the special operations command did not provide further details on the speech.

Gorka’s former Ph.D. adviser has said he “would not call him an expert on terrorism.”
