Trump says he misses New York

President Trump in a new interview said that he misses New York and plans to return to his hometown after he leaves the Oval Office.

The born-and-raised New Yorker told the New York Post that he’s avoided visiting the city during his presidency, largely because of the disruption such visits can cause. 

He said traffic problems would be “even worse” than when former President Obama visited the city.

{mosads}“They close down the city. I feel guilty because I remember when Obama would come in I’d say what the hell is he coming. He’d come in. The traffic. With me it’s even worse,” he continued.

“They close down an even bigger section. So that’s the reason I do that,” Trump said.

“I love New York, I miss New York,” the president added, though his 2016 Democratic presidential opponent, Hillary Clinton, took home 79 percent of the vote in the city.

Trump has returned to New York a number of times as president for meetings of the United Nations General Assembly, but told the Post he opts to spend more time at his golf club in New Jersey instead because he feels “so guilty when I go into New York.”
