Brzezinski scolds Biden over his ‘beat the hell out of’ Trump comment: ‘Don’t say things like that’

MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski scolded Joe Biden on Thursday after the former vice president said he would have taken President Trump “behind the gym and beat the hell out of him” in high school over the president’s remarks about women.

“Joe Biden had some really strong words about beating up the president when he was in high school,” Brzezinski noted during a roundtable discussion on “Morning Joe.”

{mosads}”I would urge all Democrats to sit back and let the story play out. Don’t say things like that. It’s not going to help you at this point. At this point, [the “Access Hollywood” tape] speaks for itself.”

Biden during remarks at a Florida rally referenced comments made by Trump on a 2005 “Access Hollywood” tape that included lewd remarks around grabbing women without their consent.

“A guy who ended up becoming our national leader said, ‘I can grab a woman anywhere and she likes it.’ They asked me would I like to debate this gentleman, and I said no. I said, ‘If we were in high school, I’d take him behind the gym and beat the hell out of him,’” Biden said to cheers.

The president responded in a tweet early Thursday, calling Biden weak “both mentally and physically” while declaring his potential 2020 opponent “would go down fast and hard” if such a confrontation occurred.

“Crazy Joe Biden is trying to act like a tough guy. Actually, he is weak, both mentally and physically, and yet he threatens me, for the second time, with physical assault,” Trump wrote early Thursday morning. “He doesn’t know me, but he would go down fast and hard, crying all the way. Don’t threaten people Joe!”

Trump is 71 and Biden is 76.

Trump and Biden similarly clashed ahead of the 2016 election.
