Coulter worries ‘big sell-out is coming’ from Trump on immigration

Conservative commentator Ann Coulter is worried President-elect Donald Trump’s immigration plan could be a “big sell-out.”

“Sounds like the big sell-out is coming. Oh well. The voters did what we could. If Trump sells out, it’s not our fault,” Coulter tweeted Friday, linking to a report about Vice President-elect Mike Pence working with Congress on immigration.

{mosads}Coulter was an early supporter of Trump because of his hardline stance on immigration. But she mocked him in August for suggesting he would work with undocumented immigrants and have them just pay back taxes.

Trump proposed a temporary ban on Muslims immigration to the U.S. during his presidential campaign, but subsequently walked it back.

In an interview with “60 Minutes” days after his victory in the presidential election, Trump said his first steps regarding immigration would be to deport the criminal undocumented workers, which he estimated to be 2 or 3 million.

After securing the border with Mexico, he said, a decision would be made about the remaining undocumented immigrants in the U.S.

“After the border is secure and after everything gets normalized, we’re going to make a determination on the people that they’re talking about, who are terrific people — they’re terrific people, but we are going to make a determination at that,” he said at the time.
