‘Stranger Things’ star honors Parkland victims with Kids Choice Awards outfit
“Stranger Things” star Millie Bobby Brown sought to honor the victims of the Parkland, Fla., high school shooting at the Kids’ Choice Awards on Sunday.
Brown, who plays Eleven on the hit Netflix series, walked the orange carpet at Nickelodeon’s annual awards show wearing a denim shirt with the names of the 17 people killed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Feb. 14.
The shirt also featured the March for Our Lives “Never Again” slogan.
“Thank you to all the fans who voted for me and for Stranger Things at Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards today,” she captioned her Instagram “A big [high five emoji] also to my friends at Calvin Klein for being such a champion of important causes and efforts to create positivity in this world. @emmazelaznog @cameron_kasky @davidmileshogg @alexanderblakewind @jackiecorin @nickelodeon @marchforourlives #kca #marchforourlives #neveragain.”
Brown, 14, tagged the Parkland students and organizers of Saturday’s March for Our Lives protest.
More than a million people across the country are estimated to have participated in the protests for gun reform.
