“Hamilton” creator Lin-Manuel Miranda on Monday warned President Trump that “there will be a lot of American deaths on your watch” if disaster aid isn’t sent to Puerto Rico soon.

“Hey [President Trump] you can’t wait that long. There will be a lot of American deaths on your watch if you wait that long,” he tweeted to his more than 1.6 million followers.

Hurricanes Irma and Maria inflicted widespread damage and island-wide power outages in Puerto Rico, potentially threatening more than 3 million American citizens.

House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) said Monday that Congress is working with the Trump administration “to ensure necessary resources get to the U.S. territory.”

Miranda, whose parents were born in Puerto Rico, wrote on Twitter on Sunday that he’s reaching out to “every famous Puerto Rican singer I know and several I don’t” to raise money to help with hurricane relief efforts.

The 37-year-old Broadway veteran has been an outspoken critic of Trump. Earlier this month, he visited Capitol Hill to lobby lawmakers to preserve federal arts and humanities funding.
