NY Daily News on Trump and eclipse: ‘Not too bright’

The New York Daily News unveiled its “Solar Eclipse Final” cover Monday afternoon complete with a photo of President Trump looking at the eclipse without protective glasses.

“Not Too Bright!” reads the headline on the Aug. 22 edition. “Trump ignores fake news warning, stares at eclipse.”

A White House aide in the crowd below shouted “Don’t look!” right as @POTUS looked.

{mosads}Trump and First Lady Melanie Trump watched the eclipse on the Blue Room Balcony at the White House. Joined by their son Barron Trump, the family watched the eclipse through protective glasses.

Trump did take off the glasses at one point while looking up and pointing to the sky. A White House aide standing on the South Lawn shouted “don’t look.”

Trump then put the glasses back on. When a reporter asked him “how’s the view,” the president gestured back with a thumbs up. 

The tabloid has routinely used its front page to criticize Trump, labeling him a “liar” following former FBI Director James Comey’s firing and branding him as the “commander in hate” after Trump announced he would ban transgender people from serving in the U.S. military.
