Actor Cuba Gooding Jr. was accused in a civil lawsuit filed Tuesday of raping a woman twice in New York City in 2013.

A woman identified as “Jane Doe” in the lawsuit said she met Gooding in a bar in Manhattan in August 2013. She said she was also invited to join him for drinks at a hotel, Reuters reported.

She alleged that she and Gooding went to his hotel room, where he raped her vaginally and anally.

The lawsuit was filed in the Southern District of New York.

The actor’s attorney, Mark Jay Heller, denied the allegations.

“The allegations are false. It’s an event that took place seven years ago. No complaint was ever lodged. We believe the allegations and the complaint will be dismissed,” Heller told Reuters.

The woman is seeking a jury trial, in addition to both compensatory and punitive damages.

Last year, Gooding pleaded not guilty to charges related to allegedly groping three different women in New York City in nightclubs in 2018.

The case is ongoing, and Manhattan prosecutors said last week that as many as 30 women have come forward with unwanted touching allegations against Gooding, CNN reported.
