Trump thanks Bob Woodward, blasts intelligence community
President-elect Donald Trump took to Twitter Sunday afternoon to again blast the intelligence community and the media, after it was reported last week that he had been briefed on an unverified dossier alleging Russia had compromising information on him.
“Thank you to Bob Woodward who said, ‘That is a garbage document…it never should have been presented…Trump’s right to be upset (angry)…” the president-elect tweeted Sunday afternoon, name-checking the famed Washington Post journalist who helped break the Watergate story.
Earlier, on “Fox News Sunday,” Woodward called the dossier a “garbage document” that “never should have been presented as part of an intelligence briefing.”
{mosads}He said intelligence officials “who are terrific and have done great work made a mistake here, and when people mistakes they should apologize.”
In a follow-up tweet, Trump continued quoting Woodward and added that the “media should also apologize.”

CNN first reported last week that senior intelligence officials had briefed President Obama and Trump on a two-page addendum to the intelligence community report on Russian hacking summarizing an unverified dossier that claims Russia had collected compromising information on Trump and was in contact during the campaign with members of his team.
BuzzFeed was the only major media organization to publish the 35-page report in full.
Trump’s transition team has denied that the president-elect was briefed on the addendum and at a press conference last week, the president-elect said it was “disgraceful that the intelligence agencies allowed any information that turned out to be so false and fake out.”
