WATCH: Geraldo Rivera booed for suggesting gun reform at CPAC

Fox News contributor Geraldo Rivera was met with boos and jeers when he voiced support for gun reform at this year’s Conservative Political Action Conference.

Speaking on a panel as part of Sean Hannity’s Fox News show live at the conservative event on Thursday night, Rivera said Trump was so “moved” by the student survivors of last week’s school shooting in Parkland, Fla., that he was looking at adopting modest changes, possibly even over over the objections of the National Rifle Association (NRA).

“We need to do something. It won’t solve the problem. If the NRA doesn’t want to to be on the junk heap of history, will adopt this reform,” Rivera said.

The crowd booed loudly.

“You want to do nothing?” Rivera yelled into the audience. “Do you want to just do nothing? Just leave it the way it is?”

NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch responded, “Geraldo, do you want a solution or do you want to scream?”

{mosads}Trump has signaled a dramatic shift from his position on gun control in the days following the massacre, including suggesting raising the age limit from 18 to 21 for certain firearms and regulating the sale of bump stocks, devices used to make semi-automatic rifles fire more rapidly.

On Thursday, Trump claimed he was on the same page with the NRA, but the group opposes raising the age limit from 18.

The NRA strongly backed Trump during his campaign, spending tens of millions of dollars in his race against Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
