Extension switches Rubio, Bush to ‘Florida Man’

The Independent Journal Review, a conservative website, has created a Google Chrome extension that swaps out uses of “Jeb Bush” and “Marco Rubio” with “Florida Man.”

Announcing the Chrome extension, Colin Chocola, Dave Jorgenson and Chris Lewis write that the Review created the application “because the political world needed it,” adding that it “makes the 2016 articles you read better.”

Google Chrome users can install the extension to swap any online instance of Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), who is running for president, or former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R), who is considering a bid, to “Florida Man.”

{mosads}For example, a Hill story about Rick Harrison, from the TV series “Pawn Stars,” hosting a birthday party for Rubio was originally headlined ” ‘Pawn Star’ to host birthday fundraiser for Marco Rubio” but the extension changed it to “ ‘Pawn Star’ to host birthday fundraiser for Florida Man.”

The extension plays off the strange news that frequently comes out of Florida, which has inspired a Twitter account of unusual news stories that include “Florida Man” in the headline.

It also switches any instances of “Florida Man” to Rubio or Bush’s name.

For example, one recent tweet from the account changes to “Jeb Bush Slashes 88-Year-Old Woman’s Tires With Ice Pick For Sitting in His Favorite Bingo Seat .”

Bush himself appears to approve of the extension:
