2020 Dem hits back at Trump for giving ‘firefighting advice’ to Paris: ‘Do your own damn job’

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.), who is seeking the Democratic nomination for president in 2020, on Monday hit back at President Trump for giving “firefighting advice” to Paris amid a fire at the city’s Notre Dame Cathedral.

Swalwell in a tweet urged Trump to “do your own damn job.”

“Branding advice for Boeing. Firefighting advice for France. How about this? Do your own damn job,” Swalwell tweeted.
{mosads}Earlier Monday, with the Notre Dame Cathedral engulfed in flames, Trump took to Twitter to weigh in on the massive fire and suggest that “flying water tankers” be used in response.

“So horrible to watch the massive fire at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. Perhaps flying water tankers could be used to put it out. Must act quickly!” Trump tweeted.
Earlier Monday, French officials also rejected Trump’s advice. France’s Sécurité Civile, the civil defense and crisis management agency, said in a tweet that “all means” were being used to put out the fire, “except for water-bombing aircrafts which, if used, could lead to the collapse of the entire structure of the cathedral.”

Authorities investigating the cause of the fire said Monday that Notre Dame had been saved from “total destruction” after they originally feared the fire might destroy the entire building.

Trump on Monday morning also offered “branding” advice to Boeing on the company’s recovery from two accidents involving the 737 Max airplane.
