Guccifer 2.0 leaks docs from ‘Pelosi’s PC’

The hacker or hackers known as Guccifer 2.0 publicly released documents claiming to come from the computer of Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).

Guccifer 2.0, who breached the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) and Democratic National Committee (DNC), released the documents to the WordPress blog used in other public releases.

The information includes including a cache of documents on congressional races in Florida and Pennsylvania.

{mosads}The Pennsylvania documents were a small subset of a larger batch given exclusively to The Hill. 

“Hi everyone,” reads a message included with the Pelosi documents released Wednesday. “As you see I’ve been gradually posting DCCC docs on different states. But besides that I have a folder from the Nancy Pelosi’s PC and I’d like to share some docs from it with you. They are related to immigration, Hispanics, BLM, Islam and other issues. “

The Pelosi files include various fundraising notes, a memo explaining how Democrats should respond to Black Lives Matter, and background information on immigration, the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and the Benghazi terrorist attacks. 

Guccifer 2.0 says he is a Romanian hacker working alone. Much of the U.S. intelligence community believes neither is true. Instead, they say, Guccifer 2.0 is a cover identity for previously identified Russian hackers affiliated with the Kremlin.  

To support this position, they point to substantial computer forensics and evidence that Guccifer 2.0 speaks Russian, not Romanian.

For weeks, Pelosi has been adamant that the DNC and DCCC hacks were conducted by Russia.

In late July, WikiLeaks published emails taken from the DNC servers, which Guccifer 2.0 has taken credit for. These emails led to the resignation of  DNC head Debbie Wasserman Schultz in the midst of the Democratic National Convention. WikiLeaks has not confirmed who sent it the emails.
