John Oliver plans ads to teach Trump about key issues
John Oliver is planning to run ads during cable news shows in the hope that President Trump will see them and learn about key issues.
Oliver said Sunday night that several commercials will air during Fox News’s “Fox and Friends,” CNN’s “New Day” and MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Washington, D.C.-area cable channels.
Oliver previewed several of the ads, which cover topics ranging from climate change to the racial makeup of inner cities to the nuclear triad.
{mosads}The ads, which are similar to a catheter commercial that airs on cable news programs, feature a cowboy speaking to Trump.
“Just remember, Donald, if you don’t know, it’s OK to ask,” the cowboy says.
The first ad was expected to show Monday morning, according to Oliver.
“Trump’s reality can change with a single sentence,” Oliver said. He urged his viewers to start fact-checking their news sources and verifying stories they see on social media before spreading them.
