Most Americans say they are uneasy about President Trump’s ability to handle the nuclear threat from North Korea, according to a new survey.

A CBS News poll found 61 percent of respondents question Trump’s ability to handle Pyongyang, while just about one-third, 35 percent, have confidence in the president.

The poll also found that 72 percent of respondents are uneasy about a possible conflict with North Korea, compared with 26 percent who say tensions will be resolved.

A majority of respondents, 60 percent, thinks North Korea’s weapons development program can be contained. But 29 percent say the threat requires military action now.

This past weekend, the United Nations Security Council voted to impose new sanctions against North Korea in retaliation for the government’s recent intercontinental ballistic missile tests.

Following the vote, North Korea vowed to respond, calling the new sanctions a “violent infringement of its sovereignty.”

On Monday, Trump went after the media, claiming reporters weren’t talking about the “importance of the” vote imposing the new sanctions.
