Male models accuse prominent photographers of sexual harassment: report

Numerous male models have accused two prominent photographers of sexual misconduct, according to a report from The New York Times.

Fifteen current and former male models have accused commercial photographer, Bruce Weber of inappropriate behavior, saying citing “unnecessary nudity,” “coercive sexual behavior,” and “molestation” during photoshoots.

Weber is known for his provocative photo shoots for brands such as Abercrombie & Fitch and Calvin Klein.

{mosads}Thirteen male assistants and models also accused Mario Testino of various sexual advances, including groping and masturbation. 

Testino is a Vogue favorite and has photographed prominent members of the British royal family, including Princess Diana. 

Representatives for Weber and Testino said they were shocked by the allegations. 

“I’m completely shocked and saddened by the outrageous claims being made against me, which I absolutely deny,” Weber said in a statement from his lawyer to the Times. 

The law firm representing Testino, Lavely & Singer, pushed back on the allegations, saying it had spoken to former employees who said they were “shocked by the allegations” against Testino and that they “could not confirm any of the claims.”

Industries across the U.S. have been rocked by sexual assault allegations against prominent male figures. 

Various actresses came forward in 2017 to accuse movie mogul Harvey Weinstein of sexual misconduct and rape, resulting in his ouster from his film studio and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. 

Actor Kevin Spacey was booted from various major projects after he was accused of sexual misconduct by multiple men.

Members of the entertainment industry donned black at the Golden Globes on Sunday as a means of promoting the “Time’s Up” campaign, which aims to foster gender equality in the workplace.
