Bear spotted in North Carolina with ‘Trump 2020’ on its collar

A black bear was seen with a “Trump 2020” sticker on its collar in North Carolina over the weekend, local media report.

According to a local ABC affiliate, a woman saw the bear wandering near her house in Asheville on Friday.

While the woman, Sheila Chapman, told the station it’s not unusual to see a bear or two in her neck of the woods, the “Trump 2020” sticker she spotted on this one is another story.

“We have so many places in this world to put stickers and express our political views,” she told the station, adding that she thinks using a wild animal for to promote a political stance is “cruel and inhuman.”

“It’s not OK,” she told the station.

Chapman, who captured footage and photos of the bear shortly after spotting the sticker over the weekend, reportedly contacted Help Asheville Bears (HAB), a group that says on its website that its aim is finding “the person(s) responsible or any information on illegal bear trapping.”

That group is now offering a $5,000 reward for information on the incident involving the bear. HAB also said on its Facebook page that it believes the bear spotted on Friday was the second to have a political sticker placed attached to it in Asheville in the past year.
