‘The Simpsons’ turned down Trump guest appearance on show: producer

“The Simpsons” turned down President Trump for a guest appearance on the series, the show’s executive producer said at Comic-Con on Saturday.

When asked if the show had ever turned down a celebrity guest appearance, Al Jean said, “Let’s just say he’s the president of the United States,” The Wrap reported.

Bill Oakley, a former writer for the show, also tweeted that he was relieved that Trump never made an appearance on the animated series.

“I continue to thank God that Donald Trump was never invited to do a voice on The Simpsons even during the brief period when he was popular,” he tweeted on Sunday.

“The Simpsons” has poked fun of the Trump administration before, releasing a clip in April that parodied the president’s first 100 days in office.
