Salma Hayek told a radio show Friday that Donald Trump once attempted to date her, only to become vindictive when she turned him down.

BuzzFeed reports that on the Los Angeles-based Spanish-language radio program “El Show del Mandril,” Hayek claimed that, years ago, the now-GOP presidential nominee tried to score her phone number off her then-boyfriend.

{mosads}”When I met that man I had a boyfriend and he tried to become his friend to get my home telephone number,” said Hayek, who is supporting Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

The actress said Trump eventually succeeded, but she refused his advances and wouldn’t go out with him “even if I didn’t have a boyfriend.”

Soon after, Hayek told the show, she discovered a story in the National Enquirer that said Trump refused to go out with her because she was “too short.”

Hayek says she believes Trump planted the story in the Enquirer as part of a ploy to get her to change her mind.

“Later, he called and left me a message. ‘Can you believe this? Who would say this? I don’t want people to think this about you,’” she said.

“He thought that I would try to go out with him so people wouldn’t think that’s why he wouldn’t go out with me.”
