Poll: Just 16 percent like the way Trump conducts himself as president

Just 16 percent of Americans surveyed say they like the way President Trump conducts himself as president, according to a new poll.

A Pew Research Center poll finds one-quarter of respondents have mixed feelings about the way Trump conducts himself and 58 percent don’t like the way the president conducts himself.

About one-third of Republicans, 34 percent, say they like the way Trump conducts himself and 46 percent have mixed feelings about his conduct.

The survey also finds that just 15 percent of Americans say they agree with Trump on all or nearly all of the issues facing the country today. Another 18 percent agree with the president on many, but not all issues.

Nearly half of respondents, 45 percent, agree with Trump on “no or almost no” issues, and 21 percent agree with the president on a few issues.

Thirty-one percent of Republicans agree with Trump on all or nearly all issues, while 77 percent of Democrats agree with Trump on no or almost no issues.

The survey was conducted shortly after Trump’s controversial remarks blaming “both sides” following a violent clash between white supremacists and counterprotesters in Charlottesville, Va., on Aug. 12 that left one person dead and dozens injured.

The survey was conducted from Aug. 15 to 21 among 1,893 adults and has a margin of error of 2.6 percentage points.
