Former Trump aide mocks ‘idiot’ who ordered commemorative coins for Kim summit

A former adviser to President Trump’s 2016 campaign mocked the White House for making commemorative coins to mark the now-canceled nuclear summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

A.J. Delgado mocked “the idiot” in the Trump White House who was too quick to order the coins.

She also jabbed at Trump, who often says he only hires “the best people.”

“Who’s the idiot in the WH that green-lit those commemorative coins for a summit that almost certainly wasn’t going to happen?” Delgado tweeted. “Amazing. #OnlyTheBestPeople”

Delgado also took a hit at Trump for saying earlier this month that “everyone thinks” he deserves a Nobel Peace Prize for his work on U.S.-North Korea relations.

Trump canceled the nuclear summit on Thursday, saying that Kim’s “tremendous anger and open hostility” toward the United States made the meeting feel inappropriate.

The White House Communications Agency, however, had already released a commemorative “trip coin” to mark the peace talks once scheduled for June 12 in Singapore.

One side of the coin featured Air Force One taking off over the White House, while the flip side depicted Trump and “supreme leader” Kim.

They are still for sale on Thursday morning on the White House Gift Shop’s website with a $85 price tag.

Other social media users mocked Trump for ditching the meeting after the coins had already been minted.
