Planned Parenthood suspect referenced ‘baby parts’ after capture: report

The alleged gunman in Friday’s Planned Parenthood shooting in Colorado Springs, Colo., said “no more baby parts” to law enforcement officers after he was taken into custody, NBC News reported Saturday evening.

An anti-abortion group released a series of undercover videos earlier this year in which Planned Parenthood officials discussed in graphic detail how to abort a fetus to preserve its organs for scientific research, and the financial aspects of sharing the tissue with researchers.

{mosads}Planned Parenthood said the videos were heavily edited and denied selling fetal tissue for profit.

Sources stressed to NBC News that the alleged gunman, Robert Lewis Dear, said many things to law enforcement and it’s not clear whether the “baby parts” remark played into his motivation.

Dear is being held on bond and is expected in court Monday.

He is accused of killing three people, including a police officer, and injuring nine others when a gunman opened fire on the Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood on Friday.
