The Trump administration has reportedly spent $1.75 million on new furniture, repairs and decorations for the White House.

Most of that sum has been for executive office furniture, including a $240,000 contract for “wood office furniture,” according to government procurement documents and first reported by NBC News.

By the same point in his presidency, former President Barack Obama had spent about $1.5 million, NBC reported, but had paid for some of it himself. NBC reported that it is “unclear” if Trump has paid for the furnishings out of pocket or with government funds and that a White House spokesperson said they were looking into it.

{mosads}Spending in the Trump administration has been under close scrutiny after reports surfaced that several officials traveled on private jets for government business, resulting in the resignation of former Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price.

The new items include a $12,800 custom conference table from the same company that made one for former President Richard Nixon.

The largest single expense is a nearly $300,000 contract with a vendor for office walls, which looks to be used by the U.S. Trade Representative.

Trump has denied reports that he called the White House “a dump” earlier this year, despite several accounts that he said the residence was not as nice as his golf club in New Jersey.
