Among his picks were books written by wife Michelle Obama and former White House aide Ben Rhodes, as well as songs from Cardi B and movies including “Black Panther.”

“As 2018 draws to a close, I’m continuing a favorite tradition of mine and sharing my year-end lists,” Obama wrote on Facebook. “It gives me a moment to pause and reflect on the year through the books, movies, and music that I found most thought-provoking, inspiring, or just plain loved.

“Here’s my best of 2018 list – I hope you enjoy reading, watching, and listening.”

Books on the list included Michelle Obama’s “Becoming,” “Things Fall Apart” by Chinua Achebe and “The World As It Is” by Ben Rhodes.

Obama’s favorite movies included Black Panther, Roma and Eighth Grade.

For his favorite songs, Obama highlighted artists Leon Bridges, Tom Misch, Janelle Monáe and Cardi B.

He also included the album The Great American Songbook by Nancy Wilson to honor “one of the great jazz singers of all time, who died this year.”
