Ashton Kutcher is calling on Ivanka Trump to “plead” with her father about gun control, saying action on the issue could be her “legacy.”

On Thursday, the “Dude, Where’s my Car?” star tweeted to his 18 million followers that he had personal ties to the scene of this week’s deadly mass shooting in suburban Los Angeles, having celebrated his 40th birthday there months earlier.

Kutcher’s message came a day after a shooting at a bar in Thousand Oaks, Calif., left 12 people dead.

President Trump’s 37-year-old daughter and senior adviser retweeted a message from the White House on Thursday calling the attack a “horrible act of violence.”

Kutcher, who’s married to actress Mila Kunis, urged lawmakers to take action on gun control in a series of tweets:

{mosads}Kutcher expressed support last year for reforming the nation’s gun laws after the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history left 59 people dead and and more than 520 injured in Las Vegas.

“I’ve had a gun since I was 12 yrs old but enough is enough. I’m a hunter and a sportsman but No body needs these weapons,” Kutcher wrote on Twitter at the time.

“Let’s pray,” Kutcher wrote, “Then let’s change the law.”
