After Trump exchange, reporter ‘confident’ admin will reach out to Jewish community

A Jewish reporter on the receiving end of a tense exchange with President Trump at a Thursday news conference says he’s confident that the administration will reach out to the Orthodox Jewish community.

“The Trump campaign and transition and now administration have been extremely forthcoming in reaching out to the Orthodox Jewish community,” AMI Magazine reporter Jake Turx told CNN’s John Berman on Friday.

“And I remain extremely confident that they are going to sit down and meet with community leaders and figure out what it is can be addressed and what is the best and most efficient way to address it,” he said.

{mosads}Turx, an Orthodox Jew, asked the president at a Thursday news conference about the rise in anti-Semitic acts in the U.S., to which Trump demanded the reporter “sit down” and be “quiet.”

“Not a simple question. Not a fair question,” Trump said. “OK, sit down.”

“So here’s the story folks,” Trump continued. “Number one, I am the least anti-Semitic person that you’ve ever seen in your entire life. Number two, racism. The least racist person.”

The exchange came during a freewheeling nearly 80-minute news conference, during which Trump attacked what he deemed “dishonest” media coverage and sparred with reporters.
